If your looking for a beautiful, tropical family destination, look no further than the US Virgin Islands. Being a US territory, you don’t need passports to get there - saving you time and money. My family and I just got back from celebrating our 15 year anniversary and we had the best time! I wanted to share with you our favorite activities to do in St. Thomas that are family-friendly and sure to bring the good times!
Screamin’ Eagle Jet
Boat Tour
The
Screamin' Eagle will give you an exhilarating ride from start to finish! From the stunning views and 180 degree
turns, you will be begging for more. Captain Anthony of VI Jet Boat Tours was
incredible! He sped us on out on the brilliant waters and we saw beautiful
sights, learned about the history of St. Thomas, saw surrounding islands, and
did some thrilling spins in the water! Woohoo!!

We welcomed
the refreshing splashes and my daughter even asked for more! He gladly accepted
the challenge, and we loved it! We had a blast and didn't want it to end.
Coral World Ocean Park
Coral World
is incredible! There is so much to do here you can easily spend the whole day.
When you
arrive, you get a map that includes a daily schedule with many different
activities going on throughout the day. This shows you when trainers are going
to be at certain areas of the park and you can watch along as they feed all the
different life at Coral World. They will also talk about their training methods
and all sorts of other interesting information. It was a great learning
experience, not only for our kids, but us adults too. It was a lot of fun!

We also
joined in on their Dolphin Moment Experience where you get to
stand on a platform out in the water and interact with a dolphin! We loved
meeting Liko and the kiddos didn't want to leave him. It was so sweet how much
they bonded to him during their time together. Coral World also offers many
other wonderful experiences such as; Sea Lion Encounter, Dolphin Splash &
Swim, SNUBA, Shark Encounter, Sea Trek and tons more! There's something for
everyone.
LED Illuminated Night Kayaking
Our LED Illuminated Kayak after Dark Tour was amazing! We took the kayaks into the
water after the beautiful sunset and got to see tons of tarpons, stingrays and
more! All thanks to these really cool kayaks with their crystal clear hulls and
bright LEDs.
The St.Thomas Water Sports' guides were great and they knew right where to go to see
all the sea life. In fact, they were so familiar with them, that they even had
names for the turtles. So cute!
Not only
did we get to see all this amazing sea life swimming around in their natural
habitat, but our guides told us interesting stories about the history of St.
Thomas including Pirates, too. Yarrr... Great fun for the kids!

These
kayaks are perfect for couples, friends, and parents with kids. My husband and
son paired up and my daughter and I were in another. It worked out great! The
kayaks have a maximum weight of 450 lbs each (based on two guests per
double-seated kayak).
We had the best time and the kids really loved it! We've never done an activity like this before and it was a sure hit for all of us!
Sunset & Harbor
Lights Dinner Sail
What's the
perfect way to end your day on St. Thomas, you ask? Its definitely a Sunset & Harbor Lights Dinner Sail on this beautiful catamaran.

The crew is
very attentive and made sure everyone was having a great time. In fact, their
whole team is amazing! When I booked our cruise, they asked if you have any
dietary restrictions or allergies and I noted my son's allergies and my GF
diet. They have all their food made by a restaurant beforehand and bring it on
board, so they are able to accommodate your needs. We were so appreciative to
find that they had made separate hamburger for my son without the taco
seasoning. Big shout out to Natalie for all your help!
The cruise
was luxurious and the sunset was absolutely stunning. Truly a wonderful way to
kick back, relax and enjoy the end of a wonderful day on St. Thomas.

All the above mentioned tours were led by experienced staff that made sure everyone had a fantastic time. These tours shared the history of the island as well as the habitats we were observing. It was incredibly interesting and we all learned a lot during our stay in St. Thomas.
I hope by
reading about all these family fun activities, it will help you plan your next
getaway. Remember, you don’t need a passport. ::wink::

ReplyDeleteThis looks like a wonderful vacation and reminds me how much I missed out on having children.
ReplyDeleteThe dolphin moment looked neat, it's on my dad's bucket list to swim with dolphins. We live in the Florida panhandle & have has the dolphins scare the heck out of us while we were fishing in the bay, they popped up out of nowhere to surface for air, and blew a little snort of mist up right beside our boat.
