Updating Your Fall Wardrobe!

This is a collaborative post. I only share with my readers information that I find fun, informative or helpful! Enjoy!

If you need to update your fall wardrobe, now is definitely the time to do it. Most stores have just gotten their winter clothing ranges in stock. So, now is a good time to go out there and see what is available. When you shop early, you get to try on all of the best clothes before they sell out.

Knitwear
Knitwear is great for keeping you warm. The fibers used and the way it is turned into fabrics means that it holds the air, therefore, it retains the heat.

These days you do not have to opt for thick, bulky sweaters to get the desired result. There are some really lovely lightweight women's winter sweaters available. They look great, because they hug the figure yet soften the lines.

Easy Care Sweaters
Best of all, most of these knitwear items are easy to care for. Most of them can be machine washed, and provided you smooth them out and dry them flat, they will not need ironing and will retain their shape. For work or wearing while walking the dog, a plain crew neck lightweight sweater is ideal. This cut covers the neck area nicely. Because the fabric is relatively thin, you are unlikely to overheat while walking.

Baggy and Comfortable Sweaters and Cardigans
For the weekend, having coffee with friends or curling up on the sofa, a long and baggy sweater is a great option. They are fun, stylish, soft, warm and comfortable. There are many different cuts available. If you want something that is a bit floaty, a poncho could be right for you.

It is also nice to have a couple of cardigans in your cupboard. This year, there are plenty of long ones available that finish just below the bottom. These are great for wearing while walking the dog at lunchtime, when the sun is out and trying to warm things up a bit. They are also nice to wear as an alternative to a dressing gown.

Hats, Scarves and Gloves
If you have not done so for a while, now is the time to dig out your hats, scarves and gloves. Give them a once over to make sure that there are no holes and put them through the wash if they need freshening up. Also, try them on with your new coat and boots to make sure they fit in properly. If they do not, treat yourself to a new set. Again, there are plenty of choices and if you like beanies you are in for a treat, because there are some really colorful ones available now.

Stylish Dresses
Trousers and jeans are always warm, so most women wear them a lot in the winter. However, there is no need to forgo wearing dresses completely. Fabrics like jersey are used by many designers to create stylish and warm dresses. Provided you pair them with stockings and some nice boots, you will be just as warm as you would be wearing trousers or jeans. If you have never tried wearing boots with a dress, it is worth reading this article first. It contains a few styling tips that will help you to choose a combination that will look right on you.
