I received an Aquagear Tap Water Filter Pitcher at no cost to facilitate this review. All
opinions are my own.
One of the most important things we could ever have is clean
drinking water. A lot of us take for granted the ability to even have water
whenever we please. Unfortunately, you don’t even need to travel far to
experience what it’s like to be without this necessity. Take for example, the
water crisis that happened in Flint, Michigan. That is why I am so happy to
partner with Aquagear to tell my readers all about their amazing water
filtration system.
After many years of testing, Aquagear has been proven to be
the industry leader when removing harmful contaminants commonly found in
municipal tap water. The contaminants
include, but are not limited to, chlorine (99.99%), lead (97.5%), fluoride
(90%), mercury (99.6%), trihalomethanes (99.99%) DDT (98.8%), and Chromium-6
(99.87%). You can even check out their website to review their Testing Certificates and
their raw data from their most recent test completed in October 2015. I
appreciate that their results came from an accredited, independent and ISO
17025 certified lab.
Aquagear even put their pitcher to the test in Flint,
Michigan and reported back on their findings in this alarming, yet informative
video. Click here watch the 3 minute video. The video
shows how the water was tested from residents’ homes and what the lead levels
were and how even copper was found in the water. Then, after filtering the water
through the Aquagear pitcher, the levels were now, “Not Detected”. Wow!
Everyone has heard of the leading filtration pitcher (starts
with a “B” and ends with an “a”), but if you watch Aquagear’s side-by-side
comparison videos, you will be shell-shocked!
Everyone needs to see these videos, because you need to know what you
are ingesting. It’s awful to think that people have been trying to protect themselves
and their family from harmful substances in their tap water by buying these
filters, only to see how they fail. Interesting fact: Aquagear removes 2000%
more contaminants than the above-mentioned company!
You can check out these videos on their YouTube channel
here: Test with Dirt & Gatorade Test. You will be speechless, as the
difference in filtration becomes readily apparent within seconds of the test
starting! I was actually horrified with the results of the leading brand. If
everyone knew this… there is no way they would continue to be the leading brand.
It’s time to shake things up people!
I had the pleasure of receiving an Aquagear pitcher for my
own testing. Sure, I don’t have a lab for independent analysis to help me in my
personal study. But I am the average mom, looking for a healthy substitute for
contaminant-laden tap water.
Setting up the pitcher was a breeze with 3 easy steps. First
you attach or hold the Flushing Assembly to your faucet and run cold water for
2 minutes at low pressure. Helpful hint: If the water seeps up onto the red
ring, just slow down the water flow.
Secondly, unscrew the Flushing Assembly and store in a safe
place, then screw the Filter Cartridge onto the Reservoir. You can use the
Flushing Assembly again, if perhaps the water flow slows down. This will
re-flush the filter.
The last step is to fill the pitcher from your faucet. The
easy fill opening at the top of the pitcher will open automatically as the
water pressure will push it down. That’s
all there is to it!
Now that your tap water has filtered through, it’s time to
check out the results and do a taste test! I was definitely happy with the
results! Clean, clear water that has been through an amazing filtration system
to rid it of a huge list of harmful contaminants! How could that not be good?! My family and I absolutely feel safer
drinking water that has been run through our Aquagear pitcher!
Another wonderful thing about Aquagear, is that for every
filter product that is sent to your door, they provide six months of clean
drinking water to someone in need. They have partnered with Thirst Relief
International to bring water aid to Uganda, Cameroon, and Tanzania. Helping
others never tasted so good. ::wink::
